We have carried out a follow-up visit to Palma and Alc\u00fadia to consolidate the implementation of the PortCDM system together with the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands and the providers of technical-nautical services<\/strong>, a new step in our roadmap with a follow-up visit on the ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From kick-off to fieldwork<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the month of August, Laura Libia Osorio S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, our project manager, has made his first visit to the Balearic Islands, covering so much Palm <\/strong>as Alc\u00fadia <\/strong>to reinforce direct contact with those who make it possible to advance the project day by day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit has combined face-to-face meetings with different service providers and progress in the implementation of our wearable devices on board the Remolcanosa<\/strong>, one of the nautical technical operators that are part of the Balearic port ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All this has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (Ports de Balears)<\/strong>, through Miguel Tudur\u00ed and Eva Gonz\u00e1lez Alonso<\/strong>, which have provided us with access to port facilities so that we could understand first-hand the real operations on which our platform must operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Palma, with the support of Israel Soriano<\/strong>, we visited the tugboats Doctor Pintado<\/em> and Jorge Juan<\/em> \u2014the latter captained by Roi G\u00f3mez Losad<\/strong>a\u2014, while in Alc\u00fadia we met the tug Catherine<\/em>, captained by Juli\u00e1n Sinning<\/strong>. Three boats and three crews with whom we have worked on the installation of the devices, the training of the teams and the collection of their operational experience to guide future improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listening to improve<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The approach of these visits responds to a specific working method: installing, training and accompanying the teams in familiarizing themselves with the tool, actively listening to their suggestions to incorporate them into the development of the product. An approach that places pilots, tugboats, moorers, consignees, terminals and other technical services at the center of the project, as end users of a system designed so that they can make informed decisions in real time, based on reliable and up-to-date data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An applied digital transformation laboratory<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The island’s uniqueness of the Balearic Islands, with its multiple ports, high seasonality and differentiated dynamics between them, makes this project a true laboratory for applied digital transformation, whose lessons can be replicated in other port environments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
