After months of work, today it has been constituted SEAPort (Ship Efficient Approach at Port) Solutions S.L., an entity in which the company has a stake Valenciaport Foundation, Infoport Valencia and Híades Consulting which was created with the aim of developing solutions and offering technological services that improve the efficiency of ship calls in port through shared digital information.
SEAPort Solutions’ services are aimed at port authorities and operators and arise from the expressions of interest received in Spain and Latin America.
The PAULA platform (Platform for AUtomatically LinKing Agents), the result of R+D+i projects between the consortium of companies, is a pioneering tool in the maritime-port sector that will facilitate the exchange of data, through the brand new international standard IALA-S211, between all the agents involved in the processes of calling ships in port. The tool has the ability to be adapted to the characteristics of each port and its operations. Thanks to this innovative software, authorities and operators will be able to increase the efficiency of port call processes, helping to reduce the average time spent by ships in port and, therefore, improving its efficiency.
To ensure the success of the implementation, Seaport Solutions offers Consulting focused on analysing the current situation and resources of the ports for the exchange of information and define by consensus the scope of the technical developments to be addressed in order to optimize scale processes.
The three partners of the new company played a key role in the work of defining the scope and requirements, deployment of the solution and system integration in the port of Valencia as part of the validation of the PortCDM (Port Collaborative Decision Making) concept, within the framework of the European STM (Sea Traffic Management) Validation project.
The pilot tests of this concept showed that only between 40% and 65% of the time spent in port is dedicated to the loading and unloading processes. confirming the potential room for improvement of these processes.
With this new alliance, we advance in specialization and innovation in the maritime-port sector with two partners with extensive experience and knowledge of the sector. We are convinced of the success of this initiative.
