We have been awarded the development of an innovative Technical-Nautical Port Services Management Platform for the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands. This strategic project marks a new milestone in the digitization of the archipelago’s ports, with a direct impact on the operations of the ports of Palma, Alcúdia, Mahón and Ibiza.
The initiative was officially presented during a kick-off meeting held in Palma de Mallorca, which was attended by key representatives such as Jose A. Pérez, President of Practicals de Palma, and technical operators of the Balearic port ecosystem. This meeting marked the starting point for a joint work that seeks to align objectives, share perspectives and lay the foundations for a real transformation.
The project is not limited to implementing a technological tool, but to deploying a system PortCDM The objective is clear: to move towards more efficient port coordination, where all agents – pilots, tugboats, moorers, consignees, terminals and other technical services – can make informed decisions in real time, based on reliable and up-to-date data.
This transformation does not seek to innovate for the sake of innovation, but to achieve tangible results: reducing inefficiencies, improving operational punctuality, optimizing the use of resources and strengthening decision-making with accurate, shared and anticipated information. All this under the active leadership of the Port Authority and with the direct involvement of the local port community.
In addition, the island’s uniqueness of the Balearic Islands, with its multiple ports, high seasonality and differentiated dynamics – turns the project into a real laboratory for applied digital transformation, whose approach and learning can be replicated in other port environments.
This new challenge consolidates our commitment to smart port digitalization, reaffirming its role as a key player in the evolution of ports towards a more collaborative, efficient and sustainable model.
