The National Association of Practical Pilots of Colombia (ANPRA) successfully held the third edition of the Congress of Lessons Learned from Serious Accidents and Incidents in Pilotage Maneuvers, consolidating itself as an international benchmark in maritime safety. For three days, national and international experts, authorities, guilds, technology companies and organizations in the sector analyzed real cases, shared lessons learned and discussed the best strategies to prevent incidents in pilotage maneuvers.
The event, held in Bogotá, focused on learning from past experiences, with the aim of improving the safety and efficiency of operations in port and river environments.
Among the invited international speakers, he attended Hiades Business Patterns, a technology consultancy with a presence in Europe and Latin America, specialized in digitization and knowledge management in maritime environments. The company presented its ecosystem of solutions AMURA, with the interventions of its CEO, Airam Rodríguez, and Isaac González de Vega, head of maritime business development.
During the congress, Isaac González presented how intelligent digitalization, through the integration of sensors, artificial intelligence and predictive analysis, is transforming the operational management of pilotage, showing real cases of risk reduction and highlighting the need for a cultural transformation in organizations. For his part, Airam Rodríguez addressed traditional risks in the ship-port interface and explained how technologies such as PortCDM, IoT, digital twins and real-time monitoring are driving an evolution towards more efficient and secure port operations, based on data and collaboration.
One of the highlights of the congress was the presentation of the Vice-President of EMPA (European Maritime Pilot Association) and President of the Palma de Mallorca Pilots Corporation, José Antonio Pérez Lorente, who introduced the mobile app EMPAsafe, developed in collaboration with AMURA. EMPAsafe demonstrates the potential of digitalization to improve pilotage safety and fosters a more collaborative and informed culture among industry professionals.
The ANPRA 2025 Congress highlighted the value of analyzing real experiences for collective learning, essential to promote prevention, cooperation and continuous improvement in navigation.
