Publicado el August 7, 2020

We share an interview with Gabriel Ferrús Clari, Manager of SeaPort Solutions a recently formed joint venture between Fundación Valenciaport, Infoport Valencia and Híades Consulting.

According to Gabriel Ferrús, ‘it is crucial for ports to improve the efficiency of ship calls if they want to maintain profitability.

SEAPort Solutions has developed a platform for automatic liaison agents (PAULA). Using the international standard S-211 included in the International Association of Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) register, this software has been designed to facilitate the automatic and real-time exchange of relevant information between all port call participants, ranging from pilots and tugboats to mooring companies and terminal operators. In doing so, it hoped to help go a long way towards better planning and scheduling; avoid delays and confusion; and reduce ship response times.

‘The system aims to improve the efficiency of port call processes through the integration of the shared digital information system and the creation of a collaborative framework between all the agents involved in these calls,’ says Clari, revealing that the company is currently working on a flexible version of the software, the minimum viable product (MVP).
