The Port of Rotterdam recently hosted the 15th IHMA (International Harbour Masters Association) Congress, a benchmark meeting for the international maritime and port community, in which the major challenges of the sector around emerging technologies, sustainability and port resilience were addressed.
Organized by IHMA and held at the Port of Rotterdam facilities, the congress brought together leading professionals and voices in the maritime field for several days to share knowledge, experiences and innovation in a high-level forum.

Our companion Elena de la Fuente travelled to Rotterdam to represent Amura Smart Solutions on the discussion panel ‘Advances in Port Marine Technology’ (Advances in maritime-port technology), where he shared the company’s experience and presented the successful digitization project developed in Puerto Quetzal.
His speech was part of an intense day of presentations and round tables, with the participation of prominent representatives of the sector, including the president of the IHMA, Captain Paul ORegan (COO of the Port of Duqm, Oman); the host harbour master, René de Vries (Port of Rotterdam); the Secretary General of ESPO, Isabelle Ryckbost; and numerous experts from organizations such as the Port of Rotterdam, Kongsberg, UKHO, OMC International, Innovez One, Robert Allan, Loodswezen, Hefring Marine and C-Smart, among others.
During the congress, the new Guide to Port Call Optimization (PCO) promoted by the IHMA, another of the outstanding milestones of the meeting.
