Following the announcement made by Fintraffic Vessel Traffic Services Ltd, project coordinator NELSON (Nautical Efficiency and Safety with Digital Solutions for Future Smart Fairways), Hiades Business Patterns S.L. is pleased to announce its participation in this European initiative that will promote the digitalization, safety and sustainability of maritime traffic in the Finland, Sweden and Spain.
In the Nordic countries (Finland and Sweden), the main operating case focuses on the Remote Pilotage, while in Spain The focus is on the Development of solutions to support decision-making and operational risk management.
The project will take place in the Baltic Sea, the Spanish Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, integrating international technologies and standards such as S-100, S-200, S-421, VDES, MCP, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Edge Computing.
Hiades leads the WP6 work package – ‘Spanish Maritime Digital Services’, whose mission is to establish a National Maritime Digital Services Platform that integrates port call services, maritime traffic management and interoperable vessel routes with VTS (Vessel Traffic Services) systems.
In addition, Hiades will develop digital tools for Operational risk management and decision support for port authorities, pilot corporations and control centers, promoting a safer and more efficient navigation environment.
The tests and validations of the solutions will be carried out both in the Peninsular Spain as in the Canary Islands, consolidating a replicable operational framework at European level.

With this participation, Hiades Business Patterns consolidates its position as a leading Spanish company in the development of technological solutions for the maritime sector, promoting innovation, operational efficiency and environmental sustainability in line with the objectives of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
